Un doodle est dédié par Google, ce lundi 8 juin à Marguerite Yourcenar. Cette écrivaine était la première femme élue à l'Académie française.
Marguerite Yourcenar, de son nom de naissance Marguerite Cleenewerck de Crayencour, est née le 8 juin 1903, à Bruxelles en Belgique.
En 1980, elle est devenue la première femme élue à l'Académie française au siège 3. Elle a été reçue sous la coupole le 22 janvier 1981 par Jean d'Ormesson.
Néé Crayencour, l’écrivaine s’est créé le nom de Yourcenar en 1920, en fabricant une anagramme. Avant son élection à l'Académie française, l'écrivaine a été élue, en 1970, à l'Académie royale belge de langue et de littérature française, à titre étranger. Douze ans plus tard, Marguerite Yourcenar est élue à l'Académie américaine des arts et des lettres.
Marguerite Yourcenar est décédée le 17 décembre 1987, dans sa résidence américaine de Mount Desert.
